
Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to Shockbyte for Game Studios services (“Shockbyte Services”) and sets out the rules governing their use. By using Shockbyte Services, the customer (“Customer”) agrees to comply with this AUP.
#1. General Obligations
Customer shall:
a) use the Shockbyte Services only in compliance with this AUP and all applicable laws and regulations;
b) be responsible for all activity occurring under its accounts, whether authorised or unauthorised;
c) take reasonable steps to secure its access credentials, API keys, and systems interacting with the Shockbyte Services; and
d) ensure that its end users comply with this AUP. Any violation of this AUP by Customer’s end users shall be deemed a violation by Customer.
#2. Prohibited Use
Customer shall not use the Shockbyte Services:
a) for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
b) to create, store, transmit, make available, or otherwise promote child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorist content, or any content that threatens, incites, promotes, or encourages violence, terrorism, or other serious harm, or any other illegal or offensive material;
c) to infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party, including by hosting or distributing unlicensed software, games, or content;
d) to transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
e) to engage in spamming, unsolicited advertising, or bulk messaging;
f) to conduct denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, port scanning, or other intrusive testing of networks or systems;
g) to mine cryptocurrencies or similar blockchain workloads without Shockbyte’s prior written consent;
h) in violation of export control, sanctions, or data protection laws;
i) in any manner that could interfere with or negatively impact Shockbyte’s infrastructure or other customers’ use of the Shockbyte Services;
j) to use the Shockbyte Services in a manner that consumes excessive network capacity, compute resources, storage, or other system capacity in a way that interferes with, degrades, or prevents normal operation of the Shockbyte Services for Shockbyte or its other customers; or
k) to conduct, or attempt to conduct, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or other security assessments of the Shockbyte Services or Shockbyte’s infrastructure without Shockbyte’s prior written consent.
#3. Abuse Handling
#3.1 Reporting
Abuse reports may be sent to abuse@shockbyte.com or other designated contact points notified by Shockbyte. Shockbyte may also receive reports from law enforcement, industry groups, or third parties.
#3.2 Cooperation
Customer shall promptly cooperate with Shockbyte in investigating any abuse report or suspected breach of this AUP, including by providing information reasonably requested by Shockbyte.
#3.3 Shockbyte Action
Shockbyte may, at its discretion, suspend or terminate Shockbyte Services, in whole or in part, including suspension or termination of specific resources or the Customer’s entire account where:
a) Customer fails to respond to abuse inquiries in a timely manner;
b) Shockbyte reasonably determines that Customer’s use of the Shockbyte Services violates this AUP; or
c) immediate action is required to mitigate harm, respond to legal obligations, or protect Shockbyte’s systems or other customers.
#4. Enforcement
#4.1 Investigation
Shockbyte may investigate any suspected violation of this AUP and may remove, disable, or restrict access to the relevant Shockbyte Services, suspend or terminate the affected resources, or, where appropriate, suspend or terminate the Customer’s entire account, if Shockbyte reasonably determines that a breach has occurred.
#4.2 No Liability
Shockbyte shall have no liability for any suspension, removal, termination, or other enforcement action carried out in good faith under this AUP.
#4.3 Updates
Shockbyte may update this AUP from time to time by posting a revised version on its website or by providing notice. The most current version of this AUP will be available at https://studios.shockbyte.com/legal/acceptable-use-policy and continued use of Shockbyte Services after the effective date of the update constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
